SEI Design Group has been providing architectural/engineering services on a number of projects for the District since 2007. SEI provided extensive pre-referendum services that included coordination with facility committees and planning with district administration, faculty, parents, and community members, and assisting the district in the final project scope which led to voters approving a $24 million capital improvement project.
Soaring roof planes appear to float over transom windows allowing natural light to flood the new music and chorus rooms. The new instructional spaces incorporate finely tuned acoustical walls and ceilings to enhance the quality of the performances within. Individual practice rooms located between the larger performance spaces allow for individualized student-teacher sessions.
This project was phased over a four-year period and involved additions, renovations, and sitework, including a new synthetic turf field. Other projects have involved roofing, windows, masonry, flooring, finishes, locker, and multiple infrastructure upgrades. HVAC improvements included code compliance, ventilation controls, and main boiler plant replacement. Plumbing renovations included ADA upgrades and replacement of dated fixtures.
Due to the age of some of the district facilities, SEI was required to complete the necessary documentation required by SHPO.
