In 2007, SEI Design Group renovated the first floor of the Parry Building to accommodate its growing staff in a permanent facility. The Parry Building is located in the historic High Falls District in downtown Rochester, New York. SEI secured part of the second floor in 2009 to accommodate an increase in staff. In order to gain access to the second floor, a circular stair was installed within the first floor existing space.
This four-story building was constructed in the late 1800s and consists of heavy timber beams, brick and old wooden columns. Into that setting, SEI integrated an office layout of storefront glazing and wood veneers. Historic building elements intentionally remain the same, leaving the brick and ceiling exposed.
The 4,700 square foot space provides a dynamic working environment which is warm, kinetic, creative and solid as well as a positive and pragmatic working environment, which reflects the firm’s design values as well as showcasing its abilities.
