The Hyatt Place in Malta, NY was the first Hyatt of its type in New York State, and the first ground-up hotel for the Hyatt Place line in the country. It is closely linked to Interstate 87, and is within minutes of the Global Foundries Chip Fabrication Campus, Downtown Saratoga Springs, and the Historic Saratoga Race Course. The 81,000 square foot hotel was designed to integrate Hyatt’s standard model for the chain with the stately northern vernaculars of nearby Saratoga Springs. The 130-room Hotel features an indoor swimming pool with spa, 24-hour fitness center and nutrition bar, lounge area, and an open-span 60-foot square conference center.
The 5-story hotel was constructed utilizing Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) bearing walls, which created a simple and environmentally efficient structural system. Along with prefabricated concrete flooring and high-density wall and roof insulation at the entire building envelope, this system resulted in a LEED Silver designed 3-star hotel built and ready for occupancy in 12 months.
