Work is underway at the Greater Rochester International Airport to transform it into a state-of-the-art transportation center.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo was on hand Tuesday for the groundbreaking of the nearly $54 million redesign. Some $40 million in funding came from the Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization competition that was awarded in September. Working with CHA Engineering, SEI Design Group is involved in the transformation and enhancement of the terminal, including security screening, access to services, and enhancements to the customer experience throughout. Focus will be given on creating a high-tech “smart” facility with barrier-free design to best serve the economic needs of the Finger Lakes region and its reliant businesses.
