You know that SEI is a big-time fan of Foosball and Design, and this gorgeous crystal foosball table by Italian design Teckell is the epitome of both. Hmm…wonder how well the five man scores!

New York magazine has their Hyper Design Issue (The Interiors Issue) out now.  Read it and drool!  Of course, once you look at the prices, your opinion might change.

We redesigned the blog for better communication.  You can now sign up for email updates, RSS feed, and our newsletter.  You can read by category or use the Tag Cloud.  Scroll to the page footers for popular posts and links.  Check out the tabs at the top.  Take a spin and see what you think.

You will see a comment balloon underneath each post and, and if there have already been comments, you can see a balloon at the top of the post.  Click either one to say what you think or read the comments.  You only need to sign up once, and if you click the checkbox at bottom, you will be notified by email when there is a comment after yours.

In honor of the new blog launch we are having a Comment Contest!  The person who has comment #… (can’t tell you it is a contest! ) will win Duckster (the dancing duck that sings Splish Splash).  Duckster is the brother of the singing Gorilla,  In addition, there will be two flying toy prizes given for comments left on other posts.  Have fun and Comment On!

Gizmodo recently reported that one of our favorite stores, IKEA, had outfitted the Kobe monorail in Japan.  The Swedish store is opening a new chain and decked out the train in full IKEA style as a promotion.

Six Concepts were developed by the Urban Design Studio at Alfred State College in Partnership with the Rochester Regional Community Design Center to create plans for the revitalization of the historic Susan B. Anthony District in downtown Rochester. This group of students from Alfred included SEI Design Group’s Justin Cross!  Under the direction of Professors Bill Dean and David Carli, they have assembled a variety of design solutions that will be on display at RRCDC. There is an opening reception at RRCDC in the Hungerford Building at 1115 East Main Street Door #4 on the evening of Friday, December 7 from 6 – 8:30 pm. This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Yapta can track prices before or after you buy airplane tickets to get best prices and see if you are entitled to a refund if the ticket price goes down.  Linkedin is a social media  network for connecting with business contacts and colleagues.  Woot is an online store and community that sells cool stuff cheap.

We are big fans of the outdoor chairs that you see  at the end of every Boston Legal episode where Denny (William Shatner) and Alan (James Spader) recap the day.  It seemed like they would be a great addition to the roof deck opening soon at our Rochester Office.  The chairs are the creation of French designer Philippe Starck. Big spenders can get their own Bubble Club Armchairs at Design Within Reach.

Churchville-Chili CSD recently accepted bids on their $9.4M EXCEL Renovation Project.  This project is primarily HVAC and roof replacements and all alternates were able to be awarded!  Finally Bob and Betty will have a positive end to their career since this project will be complete September 2008.  SEI is also working with the District on future project planning.

Met Glenn Gaudet from podcast.com at BlogWorld Expo last week. Podcast.com is a podcast aggregator and also a social media network. You can save podcasts and subscriptions for your listening pleasure.  Via this beta service, you can listen to your selections on any web enabled mobile phone(as well as on the computer or iPod)!  Perfect for those times you are stuck waiting somewhere.
