Fun Is Good
July 1, 2008
Mike Veeck did a great presentation for the Rochester Marketing Association this spring. He was very motivational about bringing fun and passion into the workplace, the subject of his book, Fun Is Good. Mike is a minor league baseball promotion guru and tells great stories about growing up as the son of former White Socks owner, Bill Veeck. You can read the stories in his book including why he was blacklisted from Major League Baseball after Disco Demolition Night or about Lawyer Appreciation Night (where attorneys pay double). This video shows the philosophy that Mike uses to run his 6 Minor League teams along with partner, Bill Murray. They require each employee to devote a 40 hour work week to a local charity.

How long does it take for me to start seeing my pretty face on this blog? I think I did what was required; I can’t wait.
